Profitable Copywriting for the Web - Announcing 7 No-Brainer Ways to Increase Your Copywriting for the Web

Filed Under (copywriting) by Roy Sutanto on 17-10-2007

In copywriting, a simple interest or skill in writing may not be enough. If you want to advance in copywriting, there are other areas that you need to know about and remember. Here are 7 ways to convert those writing skills into profits:

1. Learn how to do search engine optimization. You should write copies that are no less than search engine friendly so that they will appear in online search results. Know how to properly use keywords, and position or spread them all throughout your articles.

2. Keep your sentences short and easy to read to hold your reader’s attention. Your copies must be easy on the eyes, readable and scannable. It is best to use headings, sub-headings, bullet points and numbered lists. Also, remember the rule of thumb in copywriting: less is more!

3. Use action words. Use active voice instead of passive ones. They are more persuasive and encouraging.

4. Know your readers. Make sure that you take time to know your customer. This way, you can carefully choose the words and the pacing that will be well-understood by your readers.

5. Incorporate excellent sales pitches into your copy. Remember that copywriting is good writing combined with marketing skill. Sell your products or services by highlighting their benefits - your readers should know why they must buy them from you.

6. Establish trust. You must make it clear to your readers that you are promoting something credible. Incorporate research studies and testimonials to convince your target market that your product works and what you are claiming are true.

7. Understand the product thoroughly. The key to producing a good copy is to thoroughly know the product you are writing about. Find out as much information as you can. You have to believe in the product you are endorsing so you can effectively convince others.

Some Quick Notes on CopyWriting

Filed Under (copywriting) by Roy Sutanto on 13-10-2007

I am just going to be brutally honest with you right off the bat here – if you are just getting started online, your time is far better spent learning how to generate traffic, build a list, and create great products, than try to learn to write good copy.

Until you can afford $500 - $10,000 for someone to write good copy for you – use a sales page template.

Also, no matter how good the copy – tweaking it as a result of testing will usually improve the conversion rates.

No matter how good someone is writing copy – they simply do not know everything that goes on in every prospects’ mind – and depending on the source of your traffic, even that can vary from time to time.

So you simply have to test and track everything that you do – and especially with copywriting.

Do not think that you can learn it in a hurry – just to try to save a few bucks.

Imagine the difference in revenue on 1000 visitors if your sales page is 2% instead of 1% or even less.

Imagine your product is $50. That is the difference between 10 sales and 20 sales – which, at $50, is a $500 difference.

Invest in software, or, better yet, invest in a copywriter.

Then, use testing software (split testing or multivariate) to determine what you can change to improve things. Also, use something like glyphius to good headlines.

Keep in mind, if you want to make big money online - $100,000 or more – you are going to have to spend some money on software and education. If you leverage yourself correctly, you can do it on the low end – but don’t think you are going to ‘get rich quick’ online – that is all one big lie.
